General Competition Terms

Home / General Competition Terms

Last Updated: March 25, 2025

At maxiwines.com, we love engaging our readers with fun competitions related to home, garden, shopping, living, and lifestyle. These General Competition Terms (“Competition Terms”) apply to all contests we run, unless specific rules for a particular competition state otherwise. By entering any competition on our site, you agree to these terms and any additional rules provided with the contest.

1. Eligibility

  • Competitions are open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years or older at the time of entry, unless otherwise specified in the specific competition rules.
  • Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of maxiwines.com or any competition sponsors are not eligible.
  • Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

2. How to Enter

  • Entry instructions (e.g., submitting via email, form, or social media) will be detailed in each competition’s specific rules.
  • No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and buying something (including via our affiliate links) doesn’t improve your chances.
  • Only one entry per person is allowed unless the specific rules say otherwise. Multiple entries may disqualify you.

3. Competition Period

  • Each competition’s start and end dates will be clearly stated in its specific rules. Entries outside this period won’t be accepted.

4. Prizes

  • Prizes (e.g., products, gift cards) will be described in the competition’s specific rules.
  • Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranties beyond what the sponsor provides. No cash alternatives are offered unless stated.
  • We’re not responsible for prize defects, delays, or losses in delivery once handed to the shipping provider or sponsor.

5. Winner Selection and Notification

  • Winners are chosen as outlined in the specific rules (e.g., random draw, judged based on criteria like creativity).
  • Winners will be notified via email within 14 days of the competition’s end, using the contact info provided at entry.
  • If a winner doesn’t respond within 7 days of notification, we may select an alternate winner at our discretion.
  • Winner names (e.g., first name and state) may be announced on the Site or our social media, unless prohibited by law or the specific rules.

6. Data Use

  • By entering, you agree that any personal information you submit (e.g., name, email, address) may be collected and used as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • If a competition involves a sponsor, the specific rules will note if your details will be shared with them for prize fulfillment or marketing purposes. This overrides our usual “no sharing” policy for that contest only.

7. General Conditions

  • We reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend a competition due to fraud, technical issues, or other factors beyond our control, without liability.
  • Entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, or violate these terms may be disqualified.
  • You’re responsible for any taxes or fees associated with accepting a prize.

8. Liability Limitation

  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, maxiwines.com and its sponsors are not liable for any damages (e.g., direct, indirect, incidental) arising from your participation or use of a prize.
  • We’re not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries due to technical glitches or other issues.

9. Governing Law

  • These Competition Terms, and any disputes arising from them, are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal actions must be filed in California courts.

10. Specific Rules

  • Each competition will have its own rules posted alongside it (e.g., on the Site or in a newsletter). Those rules supplement and, if they conflict, override these General Competition Terms for that contest only.

11. Contact Us

  • Questions about a competition? Email us via the contact page here. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for joining the fun at maxiwines.com—we can’t wait to see your entries!

Lifelike professional photograph of a rugged, elegant vineyard in Australia's Granite Belt. In the foreground, a gnarled old vine with deep green leaves and a small bunch of dark Shiraz grapes is in sharp focus. The background shows rolling hills under a vast, dramatic sky with a few soft clouds, just before sunset. The warm, golden light of the late afternoon sun illuminates the scene. Dotted throughout the landscape are massive, weathered granite boulders, a signature feature of the region. The overall mood is one of serene, natural beauty and premium quality. Shot on a full-frame DSLR camera with a 50mm f/1.4 lens, cinematic style, high detail.

Granite Belt

Professional, hyper-realistic photograph of a lush vineyard in the Coal River Valley, Tasmania. In the foreground, a row of mature Pinot Noir grapevines with deep purple bunches is bathed in the warm, low light of the golden hour. The rolling hills of the valley recede into the background, with a glimpse of the Coal River in the distance. The sky is clear with a few soft clouds, creating a serene and premium atmosphere. The image should have a shallow depth of field, focusing sharply on the grapes while the background is softly blurred. Style of a high-end wine magazine photoshoot.

Coal River Valley

A breathtaking, lifelike professional photograph of a wine tasting experience in Tasmania's Tamar Valley at golden hour. In the foreground, two wine glasses—one filled with ruby-red Pinot Noir, the other with golden Chardonnay—rest on a rustic wooden barrel. A high-end bottle of Pinot Noir with a sophisticated label stands beside them. The background shows rolling green vineyard hills disappearing into the hazy, sun-drenched valley, with the winding Tamar River visible in the distance under a warm, golden sky. The shot should have a shallow depth of field, focusing sharply on the wine glasses while the background is softly blurred. The style should be luxurious, evocative, and cinematic, capturing a sense of premium quality and natural beauty.
